Congratulations to Chef Steve Iraia from Princess Alexandra, Napier. 2018 Winner for the Senior Lifestyle Competition.
Winning dishes created by Chef Steve Iraia:

Roasted Independent Fisheries hoki loin with ratatouille, pomme puree, crispy shallots, capsicum coulis & citrus and coconut foam
About the Competition:
Chefs who work in the Aged Care sector are being invited to show case their talents at this year’s Senior Lifestyle Cuisine Competition. Set within the NZ Chefs 2018 Hospitality Championships, the live kitchen cook-off pits competitors against one another and the clock as they prepare eight covers of a main dish, intended for the aged care market, in just 75 minutes.
A team of top industry judges mark competitors and their dishes against a tough WorldChefs judging standard which includes criteria ranging from food preparation, taste and presentation through to professional practice. Gold, silver and bronze medals will be awarded to entrants, depending on their final score.
All entrants will receive a carton of Independent Fisheries Hoki Loin, Naturalaz Beef Cheek and Bidfood account credit so they can perfect their dishes in advance of the competition. The winner and their workplace also receive a prize pack which includes equipment, products and vouchers from the competition
Sponsors: Bidfood, Independent Fisheries, Nestlé Professional, ServiceIQ and vegetables.co.nz.
