Bidfood is proud to be partnered with the Graeme Dingle Foundation.
For eight years Bidfood has supported the Foundation for Youth Development (FYD) and their Project K Programme. In that time we have donated close to $400,000 and many of our branches have also done their own fundraising over and above this to help support this great cause.
FYD has recently changed their name to the Graeme Dingle Foundation acknowledging Graeme Dingle’s contribution to New Zealand’s youth over 45 years. Together with his partner Jo-Anne Wilkinson they have had the single minded purpose of – transforming young lives forever.
Whilst they are taking on a new name - their purpose, people and structure remains unchanged. The Graeme Dingle Foundation still continue to deliver their highly effective school based programmes - Kiwi Can, Stars, Project K and Career Navigator. Programmes are operating throughout the country - see below.
Bidfood supports the Graeme Dingle Foundation in a multitude of ways:
- Donations are made to the Graeme Dingle Foundation based on the sales of Smart Choice products. Greater sales equal a higher donation.
- Staff actively participate as mentors to the students
- Employing students from the programmes in holiday jobs or even permanent roles once they have finished school
- Central food supply and coordination is provided for Graeme Dingle Foundation events nationwide
